In Kargman’s upcoming memoir, “Sprinkle Glitter on My Grave” — which was heading to print just as Barrymore and Kopelman split — Kargman fondly recalls meeting the star for the first time and writes, “I’d never seen my brother happier.” “She is a delightful happy mirror to our familial morose dark side, and the perfect yin-yang of California sunny outlooks versus our wintry dark humor,” writes Kargman, the creator of Bravo’s “Odd Mom Out.” Barrymore and art consultant Kopelman have two daughters together: Olive, 3, and Frankie, 2.
“At home she is makeup free, casual, cooking meals for my nieces, singing kooky songs, rocking out with a funny dance to make them laugh,” she says.
Kargman directly addresses her brother’s split from Barrymore in the book.
“Even though she [Drew] and Willie went splitsville just as this book was going to print, we are forever sisters,” she notes.
“Bottom line: She is a Technicolor flower child bouquet of a person, and a welcome kaleidoscope of hues that infused our Addams Family with optimism and light.” Barrymore and Kopelman finalized their divorce on Aug.
3, less than three weeks after they filed for the split in Manhattan.
They separated in April after three years of marriage.
